The venture capital ecosystem in India needs an urgent improvement if we really want to see people adopting entrepreneurship as a career option. I've seen something amazing in recent times - the VC firms in the US are looking out for investments and are actively contacting the founders / startup management enquiring about business and fund needs. As against this, contacting VCs in India seems to be a difficult task.

I however think that the the VC ecosystem in India will evolve rapidly in the coming times. I'm confident about more Indian engineering students taking up entrepreneurship.

Why not list them out so that we can discuss them with fellow budding engineers here. I'm sure we can definitely create some good discussion which will help everyone wanting to start their own business? I'd recommend starting a new thread titled "Hurdles in starting up a venture in India or as an engineering student"
