Panasonic Wireless Charge Pad Coming In Japan's Cafés; Charge 'Em All!

Now, you can see wireless and contact-less charge pads at the coffee table besides the menu card in a  café in Japan, that would let you charge your smatphones or tablets without the need of the cables. Just put your phone on the charge-pad and it senses it using its moving coil system and starts charging. Panasonic is bringing this facility across major cafés, stores, and karaoke stations across Japan. The charge-pad adheres to the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi standard. Hence, the bad news is that not all smartphones are compatible with the charge-pad. Only Qi-enabled devices (like Eluga V P–06D) are capable of using it.

Here is the PDF (in Japanese) sharing this news, which includes the names of Cafés and marts that will have the charge-pad installed. Looks like the japanese keep finding ways of using technology on the go. You might want to see an year old video featuring Panasonic Charge Pad QE-TM101-K -
