Netgear, one of the leading brands in the wireless equipment manufacturing has announced the availability of NETGEAR Trekâ„¢ N300 Travel Router & Range Extender (Model No. PR2000) in India. The gadget allows you to setup quick Internet hotspot anywhere and takes care of Internet security using a firewall at public hotspots. The USP of the Trek N300 is that it's very compact in size and serves as a wireless router, a range extender, an access point or a bridge. The design also allows for removal of unnecessary wires and you can simply hoot the gadget directly to your power outlet.
Those who want the latest in wireless might be disappointed by this router. The N300 supports 802.11 b/g/n but there's no support for the latest 802.11ac. There's a flip-out antenna which is great for throwing the wireless signal to a greater range and a USB port that lets you charge your mobile phone, when plugged into the power point.
We do not have any idea about the price of Netgear Trek N300 yet; however the machine retails for about $55 in the USA; which means the price in India, including taxes will roughly be around Rs. 4000+. If you are looking for a handy travel router; Netgear's Trek N300 might just fit the bill.
