NASA Mars 2020 Rover Design Unveiled - Aims To Find Life On Mars
NASA's engineering team has unveiled the design of the rover for Mars 2020 mission - which specifically aims at finding the signs of life on Mars. The design has been described by the Mars 2020 Science Definition team comprising of 19 scientists and engineers from leading Universities.
The rover definitely looks a lot like the Curiosity which is currently roaming free on the distant Red planet. One of the major tasks of the new rover will be to drill holes on the planet. The overall idea is to collect 31 different rock samples on the surface of the mars and then store them in a cache system for later revival. It'd be interesting to see how NASA plans to bring these rocks back to the Earth.
