There are a lot of theese software, you can try googling for "Autodesk Inventor", "Solidworks", "Solidedge", "CATIA", "ProE", etc. -

pro-engineer will help you out. -

There are several softwares such as pro-E,CATIA,SOLID WORKS.but you need to model individual component using part modelling and assemble them. -
@pankajvig-NsNB5K • Dec 13, 2009
yes all of the above softwares can help you assemble the parts and even able to do the animation using the different constraints and joints that you use between them but mind it that "you will have to make the parts yourself" -

hey can u temme the imortant sofwares i ned to learn which will help me in the designing field...am doing my BE Mechanical engg 2nd yr nw........ -
@pankajvig-NsNB5K • Dec 26, 2009
Best combination will be any of the modelling software with an analysis software like catia with ansys or proe with ansys or solidworks with cosmos these softwares like catia and proe also have the analysis workbenches in them but i suggest go for ansys with any other modelling software. but as you are in your 2nd year therefore go for any modelling software and later on you can go for analysis software like ansys as it will make much more sense then.

rpowerHi friends
Is there any software or something in which i can assemble and deassemble different parts of car as in real world in garages bcoz i have no access to such a garage or automobile workshop.
Is there any software for that?
Hi.......
Can u forward the softwares. -

Re: CAD software programs in Mechanical Engineering industry?
You just graduated from an abet accredited school in Mech Eng and they didn't teach you any CAD? Sorry, I'm just very surprised by this.
I'd go with SolidWorks, Pro-E, or AutoCAD. I've been using SolidWorks for 9 yrs and I think it's easily one of the best out there. I use COSMOSworks for FEA (please tell me they at least briefed you on FEA in school).
I was recently laid off from a company I worked at for 12 yrs. Anyone need a product design/development engineer?

I would suggest you to find a garage instead, in your vicinity. That will help you. How are you going to create parts of a car on software? -
@aashish-VrevFC • May 7, 2010
People have created and animated assembly lines on softwares (videos on youtube)...so creating a car should be relatively simple!!! 😁VegaI would suggest you to find a garage instead, in your vicinity. That will help you. How are you going to create parts of a car on software?
[EDIT]
Here is a video of a RC Helicopter made in SolidWorks

and here is the assembly line, again in SolidWorks:

Re: CAD software programs in Mechanical Engineering industry?
Instead of ansys id rather tell u to go for either MSC suite of products like nastran patran and dytran ot go for hypermesh......for Analysis softwares....
these are comparatively better than Ansys...... -

3D modeling software is now an essential tool for a lot of industries. Engineers and designers are actually making the most of these advanced software tools, useful for many applications, from simulation to manufacturing. We have already made CAD for many diverse applications on the blog. In this blog post, we are going to focus on the best design software that will help you to give shape to your technical parts for mechanical engineering projects. We will also see all the benefits of 3D printing and 3D visualization for mechanical projects

You have to first learn to design the parts of the car, then to assemble it.
There are many CAD software but certain software is best for certain modelling. Such as CATIA - SURFACE MODELLING[CAR BODY(OR COMPLEX SOLIDS)], CREO PARAMETRIC - PART MODELLING [ENGINE PARTS(OR SOLIDS)] as well as SOLIDWORKS.
But in a company, a group of members will design a single part which means that you along with your team will be designing an individual sub-assembly. For example Engine Parts assembly, Dashboard, Gear Box.etc.
At present, it is practically not possible for a single person to design the whole assembly of an automobile
if you are going through the design field, you may take this as a concern. Hope this will be helpful.?
