Magnetic level gauge

Dear All,

Can any one help me with the construction & design of magnetic level gauge.

    What is the principle of working of such a gauge? Devices using a floating magnet that switches a reed switch inside the stem are common.
    One can think of an LVDT type inductive coupling as well.

    Here are some magnetic level indicators:
