Lockheed Martin SR-72 | The Hypersonic Flight Of The Future

Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works has revealed its latest project- SR 72 (which is a successor to the SR-71 Blackbird). The new plane has almost similar dimensions as its predecessor, but boasts two times the speed. This new spy plane shall be able to reach Mach 6 awesomeness, presenting itself as the first hypersonic plane to enter service, if produced. It's rumored that the SR-72 shall have optional features enabling it to strike.

The SR-71 is famed for its Mach 3 speeds, and it served as a brilliant spy plane till it retired in 1998. It still enjoys several records though, including clocking the trip from LA to DC in 64 mins 20 secs.
