If I allot /boot partition in SSD so that kernel is stored there & rest other partitions in normal HD, will it decrease boot time ? Will the performance increase ?
BTW I have never partitioned & alloted the space to two different hard-drives. Is there anything i should take care of before i allot /boot to SSD & /,/home & swap area to Normal HD ?

Suggestions pl0x ?

I've done that once for Linux (dedicated partition for boot & swap), didn't really see much of a difference in performance.

But I would partition my data files on a separate HD so I can replace the OS easily without much loss. So OS on SDD, and data on HDD.

    Thanks for informing, buddy.
I am thinking of decreasing size of Swap area, it's simply of no use when you have quite good RAM, what say ?
RAM size + 10% of RAM size is more than enough, isnt it ?
