AMD Radeon HD7000 Series Leaked Roadmap Shows Launch Dates Of New Graphics Cards

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has been bringing up their new series of graphics cards lately with their first release of Radeon HD 7970 and HD 7950. Now a recent schedule leak has shown their line-up of GPUs till the second quarter of 2012. The schedule includes all Mainstream, Performance and Enthusiast series of cards.

By 15th February, we can expect to see the launch of two Mainstream cards Radeon HD 7750 (Cape Verde Pro) and HD 7770 (Cape Verde XT). Both cards are expected to feature 1GB GDDR5 memory with a frequency of 900MHz. HD 7750 will have 832 stream processors with 52 texture units and HD 7770 will be having 896 stream processors with 56 texture units at a price of $149, while HD 7750 is expected to be cheaper.

The month of March will witness the launch of Performance series GPUs with HD 7850 (Pitcairn Pro) and HD 7870 (Pitcairn XT). These cards will feature 2GB of GDDR5 memory and is expected to have a similar core frequency of 900MHz with only difference in stream processors and texture units. The HD 7850 and HD 7870 will feature 1280 & 1408 stream processors and 80 & 88 texture units respectively. The HD 7850 is expected to be priced at $249 and HD 7870 will have a price tag of $299.

The release date of Radeon HD 7990 (New Zealand) has not been decided yet but can be expected around the end of March or beginning of April when Intel's Ivy Bride processors are set for launch. The HD 7990 will feature two HD 7970s with a total memory capacity of 6GB. So if you are planning for to upgrade your gaming rig, we would suggest you to wait for a while till these GPUs are released.
