Kentaro Fukuchi and colleagues at Japan's Meiji University contemplated a handful applications of 'laser cookery' at a cookery technology workshop held in Nara during November. Having affected 3D printing and other similar industry-work, it was time for the laser to make an impact in our homes- enabling themselves into our regular kitchen appliances. At the workshop, the engineers displayed how an industrial laser cutter that usually etched on wood, metal or plastic- could prompt tempting food items when hitched to a computer graphic software and a webcam.
