India's IT major Wipro technologies wants you to experience better car driving by allowing you to access all your smartphone features while driving. Use of mobile phones while driving is not allowed - but a new technology developed by the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC) called '#-Link-Snipped-#' enables you to connect your smartphone to your car's infotainment system. Wipro has announced that they've joined CCC to support the MirrorLink technology. Wipro has an established history in the auto-infotainment and mobile technology development and aims to help the consortium build standards to address the growing international markets.

The MirrorLink technology is based on well established and non-proprietary technologies. It relies on standard internet protocols (IP), USB and Bluetooth to establish connection between the devices. It allows replication of mobile's UI on the car dashboard screen through VNC and even allows for real time streaming of sound via Bluetooth and real time protocol (RTP).

The technology however allows only allowed applications to be accessed via the MirrorLink. So if you're wondering whether you'll be able to play Angry Birds while driving car - the answer would be 'no'.
