Transporter Promises Cheap And Secure Online But Off-Cloud Storage

The Kickstarter initiative is now promoting a new project called Transporter that provides online storage without all the privacy issues and recurring cost. Transporter is a device that can be used to share data with others those who also own a Transporter. Most cloud based services require you to pay for the amount of storage and also regular subscription fees but the costs associated with the Transporter are only one time. All you have to do is fit on a 2.5 inch HDD of your choice (up to 2 TB) in the Transporter hook it up with the internet and wait for the light to go blue. Then this data can be shared on any Transporter across the globe.

Through the Internet a copy of all the files can be sent to another Transporter of your choice. With a free online account on the company website users can log in and send invites to other users to operate on the data and this makes it an ideal solution for collaboration. The files on the Transporter can also be accessed on smartphones or laptops by the website. The project has been listed on the Kickstarter website and is awaiting a total amount of $100,000 before they can go to mass production.
