Serial Podcast: What Made It So Great and Why Should You Listen To It?

After the first week of December, I saw all major US based tech and gadgets raving about a radio show called Serial after the season finale. The show made its debut in the US in the month of October and over its 12 weekly episodes it managed to become the next big entertainment addiction. So naturally I decided to check it out. The podcast revolves around the conviction of a Pakistani-American teenager for the murder his ex-girlfriend way back in 1995. Even though it may seem like a mundane cold case, reporter and show host Sarah Koenig managed to hook you in from the first episode. In each episode (that begins with an irritating MailChimp advert) the host explores the case from her perspective with help of professionals. Each episode consists of snippets of her interview with Adnan Sayeed, the man convicted for the crime, people related to the case and witnesses who testified in the court. The background music enhances the listening experience and although you do not get any sort of closure at the end of twelve hour-long episodes, you get an insight as to how murder cases are solved in real life.

The show is available for free on the website: Serial: Season One and on iTunes #-Link-Snipped-# as well. If you have time to spare, find a quiet location and put in your earphones for a radio show like no other.

Going to start listening to this from today. 1 episode a day should be fun! Haven't heard a podcast in over last 2 years. Thanks a ton for sharing this.
