Reliance Industries To Offer 4G In India By December 2011

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is getting ready to roll out 4G (very high speed wireless Internet) services in India by December 2011 or early 2012. The company plans to offer 4G at very economical rates starting under Rs. 3000 and offer speeds up to 50 - 100 Mbps. RIL is reported to be in talks with the leading media companies like UTV Software and has already acquired Infotel - the company that won pan-India wireless broadband spectrum. Reliance may aim for all India commercial launch of 4G services by mid-2012.

If RIL successfully launches 4G and offers high speed data plans for about Rs. 3000 per month; we know it's going to be a game-changer in the Indian telecom industry. However, none of the telecom companies in India have been able to offer 3G well including the mighty BSNL. We still struggle with disconnections, poor download speeds and coverage problems; save the customer service. We're keeping an eye on the development on this front.
