R.I.P Envisat, ESA Shall Miss You!
Following a month of enigmatic muteness from the bus-sized spacecraft Envisat, the European Space Agency eventually observed the death of this huge Earth-watching satellite on May 9. Envisat celebrated its tenth anniversary in space earlier this year, stated the ESA.

The Envisat In Its Good Times
The world's largest Earth-watching satellite for civvies, at $2.9 billion, was in the first place created to shoot high-resolution photos of earth for a period of 5 years, but somehow it was able to successfully work for another five years as well. The problems started since 8th April, 2012, when the satellite ceased to interact with the ground stations. Continuous efforts to reestablish contact failed, with ESA officials finally calling off the efforts, and deciding to move on.
