PS Vita Launch Soon! Prices & Release Date Revealed

Yesterday, at the San Francisco Web 2.0 Summit, Sony Corp. announced that they will be launching PS Vita in  Japan on 17 December this year, while in US, Canada, Australia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America on 22nd February 2012. For the Wi-Fi model retail price for this hand-held gizmo will be £229.99 in UK. Whereas, PS-Vita 3G model will cost you £279.99.



As far as the games are concerned, presently 100 games are under development across multiple genres. Some of the names are Resistance: Burning Skies, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed, EA Sports’ FIFA, Activision’s Call of Duty etc. This PlayStation chose the name 'Vita' because it means "Life" in Latin. PS Vita supports social connectivity, along with gaming so that users can share their hands-on experiences through Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Skype. The major concern is that this portable PS is as expensive as the PlayStation 3. Experts say this device is devised only for core gamers who are ready to pay the extra bucks.  What's your take? Let us know through the comments.
