  • Panasonic has launched a one-of-its-king tablet called the Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 in the U.S. markets. The most interesting feature of this tablet is the 4K visual display it offers. On its tech specs list, we find a 20-inch IPS Alpha LCD screen with 3840x2560 pixel display featuring 230 pixels per inch and15:10 aspect ratio. And you thought it couldn't get any bigger than this! Twice the size of the 10-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab, this Panasonic Toughpad is powered by Intel® Core™ i5-3437U vPro processor with NVIDIA GeForce 745M graphics processor. Running on the Windows 8.1 Pro OS, the Toughpad UT-MB5 features 8 GB RAM and 2 GB VRAM. Also packed inside the tablet is a 256GB SSD.

This Panasonic Toughpad was first showcased in CES last year and it is best suited for designers having expertise or interest in domains like video production, architecture or photography. On the connectivity options, the Toughpad offers support for Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0. On the body of the tablet, we find a USB 3.0, SDXC card slot, smart card reader and a docking connector. There is a camera on the front with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.

The tablet features only two hours of battery life - so its best-suited for inhouse or official use. Making it portable wasn't the aim after all when you see the form-factor. The tablet is 0.49 inches thin and weights about 5.27 lbs. The company has also put up a video demonstration for this tablet. Check it out here -

The Panasonic Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 is said to be priced at $5,999 in U.S. Availabilty details are unknown at the moment.
