My Autom Is Your Robotic Weight Loss Coach From Intuitive Automata

Intuitive Automata has finally designed and developed a robot that can be your personal weight loss coach. This robot is called  "MyAutom" website. Autom was first a project of MIT Media Lab in 2007. Later, Autom's developer, Dr. Cory Kidd, co-founded Intuitive Automata to help commercialize Autom.

Autom is a female robot and it interacts with the users through a touchpad. (I think, it would be better if the user can speak to Autom instead of giving input through the touchpad.) It stores data about health, diet and exercise details of the user and gives friendly suggestions and useful feedback. Studies have shown that people who use Autom follow their diet and exercise routines for twice as long as people using more traditional weight loss methods.

Automâ„¢ has received tremendous international press coverage and has had appearances frequently in articles, broadcasts and exhibitions since 2007.

Check out the features of Atom:

You can bring Autom home $865 which includes 6 months free subscription and if you order it by Sept. 25th you get the 'No-Relapse Diet Companion: Simple behaviors to lose weight and gain more energy and vitality for life' book for free. That amount is going to be a bit heavy on your pockets, but the company seems to understand that issue and so they might work with health insurance companies and employers to subsidize things a bit.

Let us know what you think of this robot.
