  • Seems like the Google owned Android smart phone maker has allowed a peek into its surprise product as some features of Moto G were revealed by a leaked promo-card. However the rumor mills have been churning for a few days now. Motorola Moto G specs and pricing confirmed - GSMArena.com news got hold of the promo-card meant for Phones4U. According to the mentioned sources, Moto G is pitted as a ‘low cost sibling’ of Moto X.

Early reveals hint that the phone will have a 4.5 inch long 1280x720 HD display with Gorilla Glass stretching from end-to-end. The processing seems impressive for a mid-range phone with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 8 GB storage. Although there is nothing really great about the 1.3 megapixel front and 5 megapixel rear camera capable of 720 p recording. The device with interchangeable back panels will run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, no talk of the KitKat build here. However, there is no mention of the battery, but according to the leaks in past it might be a 1,950 mAh battery. Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and HSPA+ are the connectivity options that you would want in your phone are present.

Priced at 135 Pounds (off the contract), this phone might inspire a stiff competition in the ‘mid range’ smart phone bracket. It is not clear as to when will Moto G be released, but it is said that the launch might target the holidays before the end of the year in UK. But the release specifics in US haven’t been talked of yet. Hence, we do not expect the device to be available in India soon.

Aren't we looking at a cheaper version of the popular Moto X smartphone?
If I am not wrong, it features almost the same specs. Perhaps Motorola is thinking that the Moto X will be the flagship for a while and the Moto G will be for the more budget minded people.

Exactly. Motorola seems to be looking at widening the presence in all ranges. But even with Android 4.4 designed to work for phones with less storage, I think its time for budget phones to capture the space.
