Mechanical Engineering Project Idea: Intelligent Lawn Mower

Third and Final year mechanical engineering students may pick up this idea for their college projects. The idea is based on John Deere's TANGO E5 Lawnmower. The project would aim to create an intelligent lawnmower that would map the lawn based on its battery capacity and perform its job on its own. The lawnmower will determine the best possible path to start its work and may employ cameras and sensors to determine its course.

It could be made further smarter by allowing it to take commands from a mobile (android/iOS) app.

Discuss this project idea in this thread and ask your questions. Those who pick up this project idea may head over to our Mechanical | Automobile Engineering section to post their technical doubts.
