Maruti Celerio - Price, Specs & Reviews

Maruti Celerio is already selling like a hot cake in Maruti showrooms all over India. I thought of initiating a discussion on the top three things on any potential buyer's mind -
  • What's the price of Maruti Celerio? (Both ex-showroom & on-road)
  • What are the tech specs of the car?
  • What are the consumers & automobile experts' reviews of the car?
Let's answer all these questions one by one. Let's first begin with the most important question of all - the price of this compact car. Following chart will give you an idea how much this car will cost (ex-showroom).

[Model] : [Price]
  • Maruti Celerio LXI (Manual Transmission) : Rs. 3,90,000
  • VXI (Manual Transmission) : Rs. 4,20,000
  • LXI AT (Automatic Transmission): Rs. 4,29,000
  • ZXI (Manual) : Rs. 4,50,000
  • VXI AT (Automatic): Rs. 4,59,000
  • ZXI Optional: Rs. 4,96,000
The car's biggest USP is that it offers you automatic transmission - which makes driving extremely easy for the first time car buyers. Suzuki calls it 'EZ Drive'. Even with the automatic transmission, the company promises you a mileage of about 22 kmpl. The EZ Drive ensures that the clutch operates exact at the same time you want to switch the gear.

Technical Specifications:

Suzuki's engineers have already put in a lot of efforts in fine tuning the engine, called K-Next. It offers a flatter torque along with optimized compression ratio, lower frictional losses. The lower viscosity engine oil and designed-from-scratch valves allow for better fuel efficiency. Of course, our official word would only come when we've test driven the Celerio. Here's some technical information about the engine-

Reviews: I haven't driven the car myself, but do plan to visit the local Maruti Suzuki showroom to take a ride. Will post my own review soon. However, if you've already had a chance to drive this car, please do let us know your thoughts about the engine, overall ride quality, acceleration and how does the car perform on busy city roads and on highways.
