Lenovo Thinkpad X1 - Laptop Goes Hybrid

Here is one of the most awaited product line up for CES. Leading PC maker company Lenovo announced a series of laptops today which includes new ThinkaPad  Ultrabook, new ThinkPad Edge Models and a super awesome X1 hybrid laptop.

The new buiseness friendly Ultrabook is named Thinkpad T430u. The ultrabook is .8-inch thin and weigh less than 4 pounds. It gives users the choice of integrated Intel graphic or more powerful NVDIA graphics based on their needs. T430u has a 14-inch LED display, 16GB RAM and a full-size keyboard. Users can also choose between Solid-State Storage Device(SSD) and upto 1TB of hard drive space. It also has a fingerprint reader. Battery life of this ultrabook is upto six hours. Lenovo would be showing it off at CES 2012, but release of the product will be in Q3 2012 as Lenovo is holding on till Intel’s Ivy Bridge Processor release. The price for this product will start at $849.

Next in the line is dual bootable X1 Hybrid laptop. Officially its not an ultrabook, but its actually 4mm slimmer than T430u. Lenovo claims it is the thinnest think pad ever as it is just 16mm thick. The system is called hybrid as it is capable of switching between two different OS - Linux based operating system environment and Windows 7. But the switch is one way only, you have to login using windows and then you can switch to Linux which puts Windows on sleeping mode. The laptop comes with Core i7 CPU(running at 2.7 GHz), 64 bit Windows 7, 8 GB RAM, a 160 GB SSD and a single USB 3.0 port. It also has a finger print reader and can charge upto 80% in 30 minutes. This high performance system will cost around $1600.

Apart from these Lenovo has also launched several new stylish ThinkPad Edge Models, which include Thinkpad S430, E430 and E530. S430, which comes with ultra fast Thunderbolt port will cost $749, while the price of 14-inch E430 and 15-inch E530 are $549 and $399 respectively.
