IBPS Specialist Officers (SO) Exam 2017-18: CWE SPL-VII: New Pattern & Dates
Introduction
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts an examination called the Common Recruitment Process For Recruitment Of Specialist Officers In Participating Organisations (CRP SPL) for selection of specialist officers into public sector banks. This includes selection of IT Officer (Scale I) which is an examination for engineering graduates and post graduates with a degree in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation.
New Pattern
This year IPBS will conduct the seventh edition of the examination called the CWE SPL-VII. The examination pattern is going to change. Previously it was a one-tier examination which included sections like quantitative aptitude, reasoning, English and professional knowledge (knowledge related to your domain). This year the governing body IBPS has decided to change the exam pattern to a two-tier system. The first tier preliminary examination will be conducted for candidates who register for the exam. The selected candidates from the preliminary examination will be called for the main examination. The main examination shall consist of questions related to professional knowledge only. This means we can easily deduce that the preliminary examination will be something like the IBPS PO (Probationary Officer) exam where questions are asked from Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English. The candidates who qualify for the main examination will be asked to appear for the interview. We have to point here that the selection criterion for the interview will only be marks secured in the mains examination, the preliminary exam marks will not be taken into consideration.

The tentative dates for the preliminary examination for CWE SPL-VII are 30.12.2017 & 31.12.2017
The mains examination is scheduled to be held on 28.01.2018
