Near Field Communication aka NFC is rapidly making its ways to our lives and while it's being rapidly adopted for point-of-sale systems, it's just matter of time that it will find more innovative applications. Engineers at Hyundai are developing a system that will replace your car keys with NFC enabled smartphones. The cars door will have NFC enabled tag and you'll have to just bring your smartphone near to the tag so that the system can identify you as the owner and let you in.
Hyundai demonstrated a prototype of the system with i30 in Germany. The car will also be equipped with a wireless charging pad which will make you go wire-free inside your car. Interesting, isn't it?
