German Student Builds Electromagnetic Harvester That Charges Battery
Electromagnetism is virtually a trait of every gadget, an omnipresent feature in the electronic age. German student, Dennis Seigel notes that, and has proposed a device that aims to use this ubiquitous resource to charge batteries. While the purpose is noble and electromagnetism is in abundance, it doesn't exactly make for the most efficient source of electricity with its day-long recharge period.

The device is capable of utilizing electromagnetism in two ranges, one below 100 Hz, sourced from electrical mains, etc. and second above 100 Hz, from Bluetooth frequencies etc. The device is fitted with a red LED indicator at the top which measures the strength of electromagnetism in the area, while the magnet attached to its back ensures the device has a place to stick to. The idea is not commercial, yet a device like this secures a step towards a future reliable on renewable sources and recycling of energy for intelligent power generation.
