Remember that cute superbowl advertisement of a young kid dressed as Darth Vader trying to make things move using gestures? Yeah, something cool like that is coming for Mac users, the ability to control your music with nothing but just a wave of hand.
The app is called Flutter and is designed with the primary function of controlling your music with gestures. By controlling, we mean pausing and playing songs on iTunes and Spotify. The prerequisite to this service is the availability of a webcam, which will identify your gestures and trigger Flutter's pause or play function. A slight disadvantage to your side if you move your hands rather circumstantially.

Gesture control per se is not an unexplored technology with Xbox Kinect being the most popular product of this technology. But the field has a huge scope of advancement with future innovations to come. Microsoft's experimental Research Labs have been tinkering with the concept of touch less computers for a while now. 3D Gesture recognition is another area being pursued currently both by Microsoft and Apple.
Flutter is now in the alpha stage with limited functionality but is unarguably a fun app to have for free download. Flutter's founders have hinted towards future upgrades and a number of gestural controls have a mighty chance of getting integrated. That makes it a lucrative investment to have on your space. An early version of the Flutter app has already been released and is #-Link-Snipped-#. A demo video of the app can be watched below.

May the Force be with you.
