Best Video Converter/Cutter

I want to know which video converter do the best job in Conversion of Video files.I had tried the following video converters and only some of them satisfied me .They are
1)Total video converter
2)Any video converter
3)Xilisoft video converter and the list goes on but I want to know the best Paid/free video converter so that converting will be easy for me.
Is there any software to rip Original audio/Video files for saving it in PC?

    Total Video converter should work fine I guess. I used that once. Format Factory can be used too.

    Format-Junkie ,Handbrake & FF Multi Converter.
    Handbrake is my favourite.
