Asobi- The New Version Of Newton's Cradle Depicts The Third Law Of Motion

Newton's Cradle is Sir Isaac's model which depicts conservation of momentum and energy. It consists of a series of identical metallic balls, suspended in a metal frame via strings such that the balls are in contact with each other. When the first ball is lifted and released, the force travels through all the balls and pushes the terminal one.

An art student, Yasutoki Kariya has given a new direction to the experiment. He managed to replace the metallic balls with computer programmed incandescent light bulbs. The light bulbs transfer the kinetic energy from one to another and manage not to shatter.  The new model with the essence of light in it is called ' Asobi ' and is nominated for ' 2012 Mitsubishi Junior Designer Award'.

The video below depicts the beautiful blend of Newton's Cradle and Edison's bulb, don't miss it!
