Apple Takes On HTC In Patent War
Apple has accused the Taiwan smartphone maker HTC Corp. of encroaching its patents, in the most recent stage of the legal battle between phone and tablet PC makers. A complaint has been filed against the US International Trade Commission (ITC) seeking an inquiry by the panel into the matter. Nevertheless, HTC has denied Apple's allegations.

Patent Woes!!
By stock market value, HTC is the world's third-biggest mobile phone maker. Grace Lei, HTC's general counsel, said, " HTC is dismayed that Apple has resorted to competition in the courts rather than the market place." HTC has vowed to do its best to protect its intellectual property rights. This news is followed by a similar complaint by Apple a few weeks ago accusing Samsung of copying its designs and technology.
Apple became the market leader in the smartphone and tablet PC market soon after the launch of its products like iPhone and iPad. Its success is rapidly securing a large slicing of the market, with stylish and fashionable products savoring great demands from consumers. This prompted several rivals to come up with their own gadgets hoping to gain ground in the fast-growing market.
All the same, that ensued in in relations between Apple and its rivals souring as the competition grew. Last year the American Technology company registered a similar complaint against HTC accusing it of infringing as many as 20 of its patents. That propelled HTC to establish a counter attack, claiming that Apple was guilty of infringing patents held by the Taiwanese company.
HTC went to the extent of attempting a ban on sales of iPhones, iPads and iPods in the United States.
