Airtel 4G To Roll Out In Mumbai, Delhi, Haryana And Kerala; Citizens Happy?

Bharti Airtel in collaboration with the GSM service provider Qualcomm, will now provide 4G services Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala by 2014. Qualcomm obtained the BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) spectrum or 4G licenses for Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala. So far only Kolkata and Karnataka have experienced the 4G sevices.

Remarking on the collaboration, the chairman and managing director, Bharti Airtel, Sunil Bharti Mittal stated that Qualcomm shares a similar agenda of providing broadband to all, and hence the partnership. Together, they are all set to make a mark on the LTE TDD space. He believes this may be the next revolution, as far as the telecom industry is concerned. Qualcomm shall technically assist Bharti Airtel in areas of network architecture and optimisation, infrastructure and device testing, and will even continue the development and support  of the primary technology and the LTE TDD environment.
