Here in the United States, we have engineers week that runs from third Sunday of February till Fourth Saturday of the same month. The theme every year is celebrated to recognise the achievements of engineers and their overall contribution to the society.

It's an event coordinated by DiscoverE, a non-profit that works to promote engineering as a career choice among American youngsters. Engineers week is a tradition being followed by the technical community in US since 1951.

Jokes to share on Engineers Day

Decided to write a few jokes that you can share with your fellow engineering friends or colleagues to celebrate Engineers Day -

    1. Why did the engineer get a promotion? Because he had the right angle to success! :-)

    2. What do engineers and comedians have in common? They both know the importance of good timing.

    3. Why don't engineers ever get bored at work? Because there's always a new problem to solve!

    4. How can you tell if an engineer is an extrovert? They look at your shoes while they're talking to you instead of their own.

    5. Why do engineers always carry a pencil and paper? You never know when you'll come across a problem that needs solving, or a napkin that needs sketching.

    6. An engineer, a physicist, and a mathematician are all trapped on a desert island with a can of food. The physicist suggests using a lever to open it, the mathematician says to find the right equation, and the engineer just rolls his eyes and says, "Let's assume we have a can opener."

    7. What's a mechanical engineer's favourite type of music? Heavy mental.

    8. Why did the engineer's wife leave him? She said he had too many "issues" to "resolve."

    9. What's the difference between an engineer and a scientist? A scientist will read the manual before using a device; an engineer will only read the manual after breaking it.

    10. Why do engineers prefer Velcro to shoelaces? It's a simple and efficient solution for a complex problem.
