ZTE Brings Six New Android Smartphones In India With Price Tag Between INR 5,000-15,000.
Let us take a look at the tech specs and basic features of each of these Androids - The ZTE Grand X Lite - the costliest of them all runs on a 1.2 GHz quad core processor, has 1 GB RAM, 4 GB of internal memory and external one that expands up to 32 GB. Sporting a 5-inch display with a resolution of 540x960 pixels, this smartphone features a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA front-facing camera and lets users have access to 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and wireless charging on-the-go. A 2500mAh battery powers this phone and lets it run a copy of Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
The ZTE Blade G2 features 4.5-inch FWGVA display, Android 4.1, 1GHz quad-core processor with 512MB of RAM. With 4GB of internal storage, and 5-megapixel rear camera, the phone comes under the mid-segment smartphones. The ZTE Blade L sports a 4.7-inch WVGA display, Android 4.0, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The ZTE Blade C comes with a 4-inch WVGA display, Android 4.1, 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 3-megapixel rear camera and 2000mAh battery. The ZTE Blade E brings forth a 4.5-inch IPS FWVGA display, Android 4.1, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel rear. Last but not the least, there's the ZTE Kis Flex featuring 3.5-inch QVGA display, Android 2.3, 1GHz processor with 256MB of RAM, 512MB of internal storage, 2-megapixel rear camera and 1200mAh battery.
Though each of these phones run over different flavors of Android, we think we can point out the other similarities and differences in the other five smartphone. Each of them has a 5MP camera to show off (except the Blade C with 3MP lens and Kis Flex with 2MP), but they differ when it comes to the battery - that ranges between 1,600mAh cell to 2000mAh.
Speaking at the launch, Xu Dejun, CEO of ZTE India, said, "We offer 214 service centres accross the country to address your greviances. We also have a full fledged Research and Development unit to stay up-to-date with the leading technologies. With in-house manufacturing and RnD, we aim to offer quality products at reasonable prices." "By the year end, we aim to have our pan India presence with the smartphones and data cards," he added. "There is a USD 350 million opportunity right now (smartphone and data card market), which is expected to grow to USD one billion in 3-4 years. We definitely want to tap this market," ZTE India Vice-President Yuan Kang said.
Talking about the company's sales channel and marketing strategy in India, Dejun said, "We are optimistic on our marketing and channel spends and looking at strengthening the brand from all fronts. Our distribution and sales structure is backed by a strong network of 214 service centers across the country. We are replicating the same pedigree of our global innovation leadership in the Indian market and aim to emerge as the third largest smartphone vendor in the country within three years."
