There are lots of tools available for PCB designing, Which one you are using to design PCB? What are the advantages and disadvantages of that tool?

I am using Protel 99SE Routing and Placement process is very easy. 😀

    I used keil uvision3 for designing .

Advantages : Easily understood and designing is easy. (only tool used so didn't compare it with protel 99SE.)

    Disadvantage: Limited facilities.

These things that I have encountered during designing.

Oh I'm sorry for the mistake(for being casual 😳 ) keil software for C programming was used while Express PCB and Express SCH were used for lay out design and schematic design respectively. 😖

Yeah, Express PCB is also handy tool but ready footprints for the different component is not available easily. 😔

Frankly speaking I've worked with only two tools for PCB designing one's Protel 99 SE and other's Altium(update version of protel).
Altium Designer aka DXP for me.
it proved seamless access to the every detail for the PCB design process.

    Pros:
    easy to route and place
    it's compatible with win7,Protel99SE isn't.
gets many more features compared to protel + shortcut compatible to protel.
Handy to operate(like ZoomIn/ZoomOut,Copy/Paste and many more things are same as windows).
very easy for making your 1st PCB 👍

    Cons:
Eats up too much RAM(without even burp !!),even slows up my system having 3GB of RAM and DualCore Brain.👎

Nice to see you in action AT-OK !
Altium is upgraded version of Protel you can say Combination of ORCAD and Protel. 👍 for Altium. 😀

You forgot One more thing, Generating BOM is very easy in Altium. 😀
