TVS Motors has finally unveiled the TVS Star City+ bike and offered at a price tag of Rs. 44,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Star City Plus has been the much-talked about motorcycle ever since its showcase at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014. Running on a 109.7cc single cylinder air-cooled engine, the Star City+ delivers maximum power of 8.18 bhp at 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.1 Nm at 5000 rpm. Available in 4 color options - Celebrity Scarlet, Oscar Black, Show Stopper Blue and Titanium Grey, the TVS Star City Plus offers 83.9 kmpl mileage (under standard test conditions) and has its engine mated to a 4 speed gearbox. In competition with the likes of Honda Dream Yuga, Hero Splendor Pro and Bajaj Discover 100M, the bike is ready to run on Indian roads soon.

As we take a look at the various features and specifications of the bike, we find a Single cradle tubular frame type chassis, a Telescopic oil damped front suspension and 5 step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber rear suspension. The front break is hand operated, whereas the rear brake is foot operated. Coming to the dimensions, we have 1260 mm wheelbase, 1080mm height, 172 mm ground clearance and 750 mm width.

The high grip tread button tyres offer a good grip on all road and the hi-grip rubber compound is great at traction and braking. The easy access choke lever position helps save effort and maintains engine efficiency, especially in heavy traffic conditions where riders have to repeatedly switch the bike on and off. The presence of Dual tone seat and colored shock absorbers with 5 different setting make the ride smooth and comfortable. The company believes that the Ecothrust motif on the exhaust muffler etched with special heat resistant materials gives the bike's tailpipe a dash of style.

There's a muscular tank, honeycomb textured grills, 3D StaR city+ emblem, newly designed tail lamp and aluminium grab-rail - among the features that stand out in the looks department of the all new 2014 Star City Plus.

The company boasts that the the 110cc Advanced Ecothrust Engine is fitted with a Molycoat Piston that ensures reduced friction within the cylinder and better combustion. Its advanced technology manages the variables of speed, rider weight and ride conditions in such a way so as to arrive at an Optimal Ignition Curve that yields better pick-up and mileage.

That's all about the tech specs, features and price of the all-new Star City+ bike in town. What are your thoughts on the new motorcycle in India? Share with us in comments.

With above features and 83.9 kmpl mileage offering at a price range of 44,000, I am sure it will be a threat to other bikes in this price range.

TVS company struggling with sales, this is good attempt to regain lost ground,Tamilnadu where lot of craze was there for TVS, I seen people buy more of Honda Unicorns and CB Shines than TVS.TVS is selling just 68000 bikes per month in March 14 as compared to Honda which sold 1,90,000,Bajaj 2,70,000,Hero more than 5 lakh bikes source Motorbeam site.So the company is sinking and trying to come out of it .Let us see what happens when you are competing with Honda,Suzuki and Yamaha ,and Bajaj who are advertising a good mileage but low quality products.Hero strugling to come out of Divorce with Honda

Despite of some very good models (in all aspects Power, Mileage, Price) TVS still lag to be the customers first choice (Except 150 - 180 range Apache - which has gain much interest).

think they need a combination of more powerful engine (I have experienced TVS Star making bursting sound like crackers while riding) more sporty looks, better & more number of service centers . plus some better marketing, then they can attract customers
