A lot of wait and finally an interview
The questions were many and answers were few
When intro and all were skipped
I knew I was gonna be ripped
when heart said you are diamond from inside
'Uncut' shouted the brain without any pride
Before any concensus could be reached
The outer silence was suddenly breached
So fluently fast spoke the panel
as if expert analyst on a news channel
Some of it I could follow
Rest I just could not
with no option but to swallow
without giving it a thought
When asked to repeat and be a bit loud
they said 'Kartik! dont behave like a crowd'
With all my strength I decided to be strong
I know I could hold on but didnot know how long
while I was trying to recollet my memories
Suddenly started another barrage of queries
asked how the aeroplanes flew
I said better knew the cabin crew
About the composition of earth
I expressed the knowledge dearth
Temperature at which Tungsten melts
Of how many colours are karate belts
What is the currency of Burkina Faso
What was name of last wife of Piccasso
From stars to sun to Jupitor's Moon
Nothing I knew not even Neptune
From the Governor of RBI
to the reason behind blue sky

from history, geography to science and art
everything was asked but I just couldn't start
Enough is enough thought the judges and jury
they accused me of fraud and even perjury
I said "My lord, these are just nerves
I dont know what purpose such interview serves?
No lifelines or options any
neither do I make even a single penny

as I went on tearing off the call letter
after being rejected in this way, spurned rather
