SNAPDEAL delivered wood pieces in place of Apple iPhone

In a shocking instance, a Pune based man who ordered two Apple iPhone from snapdeal got a shock when he received the pieces of wood in place of shiny apple device.

The phones were ordered on December 7 (order no. 3862653450) at his home address at Pune, where fortunately he chosen payment method as 'Cash on Delivery' and upon receiving the parcel, he requested the delivery boy for checking the package. Delivery boy allowed him to open the package before accepting the cash; This saved him 40 K+ bucks.

Snapdeal

Snapdeal's vice president of marketing, Sandeep Komaravelly, sent an note to media explaining about the goof-up as:
We deeply regret the mix-up that inconvenienced our customer. As soon as the case was brought to our notice, the team got in touch with the customer and arranged to hand-deliver the ordered phones.
This is not the first case when snapdeal has sent incorrect items, but sending pieces of wood. I would say that they have touched the all time low in their services.

I know we have a past threads for snapdeal experience (around 6 months back). In last one year how many of you experience this goofed-up behavior of snapdeal, and how was the support from snapdeal. Your experience and comments please...

Looks like everyone will have to think twice, no thrice before ordering something from SnapDeal.
    Heard multiple such cases.
This case looks poorly handled too.

I have brunt my hand too(I have threaten them to drag them to consumer court and social media); After couple of follow-ups, they have delivered me the right product.

I must say, not a great experience shopping with them.

The big names are investing in idea, probably not in implementation of it. I believe they are thoughtful that with right set of people and policies in place, Snapdeal can still do wonders.

Though not sure when that *right set* of people and policies will come.
As of now it is horrifying.

They are investing their pennies. If it's a hit that fine otherwise who cares.

My friend had good experience with Snapdeal . He purchased an LED TV worth ~ 25 K. Even he was quite impressed with the packing & delivery.

PS: though I warned him about snapdeal frauds before he made his order. 😁

HTC Desire 620G Launched In India At Rs. 15,900 - Specifications And Features
The smartphone, which is a variant of Desire 620 (yet to be launched in India) is priced at Rs. 15,990 and is available on Snapdeal, Mobile Store and Flipkart. However, on Online Shopping India | Buy Mobiles, Electronics, Appliances, Clothing and More Online at Flipkart.com it is priced at Rs. 16,999
If I have to buy, I will still buy from Flipkart no matter if its 1K more, what would be your deal?

Here is my trust order for shopping sites -
    1/2 - Flipkart / Amazon.in (Amazon Fulfilled only)
    3 - Ebay - with > 300 with > 95% rating - depends on price of item
    Other sites : Crap
For the record I bought Sony P&S camera from Ebay and saved 1.5K on 15K camera. Genuine and new product

(apparel shopping not included, I hardly buy any shirt online.)
If you are buying mobile, check local store also. They are aware of online shopping and may give you better deal. I saved 150/- on 3k mobile, from home town. Far away from main city.

Not a bad idea to check from the local stores.

Still if you have only two options, as in case of HTC Desire 620 G and there is a pricing difference of 1K between Flipkart and Snapdeal.

Would you go for the crappier snapdeal to save a grand.

I would like to go with Flipkart of-course. But also make sure it is from WS-Retail.

There might be fault when item was being delivered. That was the main reason, Flipkart started their own courier service 'ekart'.

At one end Snapdeal is consistently goofing-up and snapdeal Complaintsis filling thick and fast. On the other end flipkart had raises $700 million and planning to go public.

Seems like snapdeal is legging behind in race with flipkart... πŸ˜’πŸ˜πŸ˜›

No way! I am ready to pay few more bucks to get it from Amazon or flipkart. No snapdeal ever. I would rather stay without the product than getting it from snapdeal. First they delivered me counterfeit product and then when contact, they didn't even bother to reply the mails. The customer support felt inexistent at the time. This was was the bad experience 3rd time in a row. I've already done same mistake thrice, it'll not be repeated again.

I am not very much surprised to be honest with this incidence.

I've a feeling that Amazon's beating Flipkart in the pricing war. When it comes to cash, I think Amazon's got a lot deeper pockets than Flipkart. I've been observing product prices since last few weeks and Amazon seems to be beating Flipkart by a huge margin.
