Samsung Reveals The Smaller, Cheaper Galaxy SIII Mini. Preview Doesn't Look Appealing.

If 4.8" of Galaxy SIII was pretty huge on your palm, Samsung offers you a trimmed down version of the same- the Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini. Not only is the screen-size reduced to 4", but even the resolution has been brought down to 480 x 800 pixels, as compared to its big brothers 720 x 1,280 pixels. Unlike SIII, which runs on Android ICS, SIII Mini shall be sprinting on the latest version of Android- the Jelly Bean, and even has the TouchWiz UI, which indicates that you shall be enjoying pretty much the same features as Smart Stay (the screen doesn't go black if it detects you viewing it), and S-Beam (for sending files from device to another speedily).

Also, while SIII enjoys a 1.4GHz processor, the mini version ust has a 1GHz processor to boast off. Also, instead of an 8MP cam, the Mini's equipped with a 5MP camera. Also, the scaling down has happened with the battery life it seems. Overall, the quality of mini seems to be compromised, and we just hope it doesn't take the shine off the original, much better Galaxy SIII. The pricing of the mini version is still unknown.
More updates to follow.
