Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 (ICS) Update NOT Releasing On March 10!

Update: The latest development is disheartening. Samsung is taking their words back! Samsung through their #-Link-Snipped-# account have said that the official global launch date for Android 4.0 (ICS) has not been finalized yet.

Samsung Galaxy S2 owners should keep their Kies software updated and ready as Samsung has declared that the much awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware upgrade for S2 will release to the masses on March 10. Few days ago, we informed you that the firmware is expected to release #-Link-Snipped-#; but now we've official confirmation from Samsung. The upgrade will be made available both through Kies 2.0 desktop and FOTA. Those who're still stuck with the 1.5 version of Kies should quickly upgrade their Kies software as 1.5 does not support upgrade to ICS. If you plan to upgrade your Android over the air, then make sure that you have at least 350 Mb available on your mobile. We'd also recommend you to download the firmware over Wi-Fi connection on your mobile as the firmware file is going to be 'too big' to download via your 3G connection.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.0 ICS Firmware Upgrade Official!

The Android 4.0 brings a ton of new features and facilities to your device. The major ones are Android Beam & Face Unlock. You'll also have the ability to see the mobile network data usage. Multi-tasking has been highly improved in ICS. Adobe flash and Bluetooth 3.0 HS won't be supported. Those who are performing the upgrade for the first time should keep in mind that the firmware won't delete your personal data or information but it's still a good idea to keep a backup of all your important data through Kies. The firmware upgrade will still make changes to the sequence of opening applications and other cosmetic changes. Samsung has worked up the TouchWiz UI for the Android 4.0. The only issue you are likely to face is few of the apps won't work. Make sure that you check #-Link-Snipped-# for the ICS compatible versions of your apps.
