Razer, the international gaming peripheral giant has announced its biggest product yet - The Razer Blade Gaming Laptop. The configuration is impressive with a 17-inch 480x800 LCD screen, 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 CPU, GeForce GT555M GPU with 2GB of dedicated video memory and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. Razer traditionally makes gaming gear and this is the first time it has ventured into the world of laptops.
[IMG]The Blade has an aluminium chassis and weighs around 7 pounds unlike the usual 10 pound gaming laptops. What is going to hurt gamers most is the price. The Blade comes to market in the fourth quarter of 2011 and will cost $2799. That kind of money could buy you an Alienware with a Core i7 processor and a 1.5GB GT555M, a PS3, an Xbox 360 and even a decent 42” TV!!
While the Blade’s hardware is gaming specific, the interface is quite different. On the keyboard, in the place of the numeric keypad is a touch screen LCD along with 10 key. Each key has its own display.  The hot keys can actually change the image on the key. The LCD screen acts as a second display for in-game information or as an additional set of controls using the touch-screen. When using the Blade normally other than gaming, touchscreen becomes the laptop’s touchpad.

The Blade seems like a must have for gamers who can afford it!
