QPrize: Qualcomm Seed Investment Competition
Qualcomm has organized QPrize, the seed investment competition with prizes worth $750,000. The aim of this competition is to search for the technopreneurs who have innovative business ideas to impact the regional markets and also build a profitable business venture. The company is looking for entrepreneurs who wish to change the world of wireless communications.
Schedule:
* September 14th, 2010 – official start of competition
* December 14th, 2010 – deadline for submitting completed business plans
Registration: The registration for the competition is through the web form available here.
Judging Criteria:
The submitted business plans will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges on the basis of innovation, ingenuity and creativity. In addition, the marketability of your ideas, capabilities of management and realistic financial projects will be an important criteria for the evaluation of business plans.
Eligibility:
As mentioned on the website,
QPrize is open to all persons who are 18 years or older and who are citizens or legal residents in any country in any of the six regions where the competitions are being held. Contestants may only submit one business plan and must select the region in which they will set-up and operate their business. Winners will be required to incorporate their companies prior to distribution of funds. Entrepreneurs and start-ups that have raised less than $2 million from non-institutional funding sources (i.e. friends and family, angel investors) may apply to this competition.
