PHYSICALLY REGULATED OPERATING SUITE (PROS) LIMB
Project Abstract / Summary : Our proposed idea deals with interfacing nerve signals with prosthetic limb. PROS (Physically Regulated Operating Suite) limbs are incredibly valuable to the amputees and it provides them a comfort mobility. The surface EMG / myoelectric sensor are used to detect electric impulses from nerve cells and are fed into the INTEL EDISON board, which is responsible for amplification and digitizing. Based on the received signal at control board (Intel Edison), it will define the degree of displacement to servo motor for controlling the leg position. The excess of weight handling and accidentally hitting are detected through force sensor and vibration sensor which are interfaced with Intel Edison and alert the user by buzzer or alarm. The machine learning of our system are used to produce a navigation pattern for each individual and are monitored and updated continuously by the doctor and prosthetist through cloud computing technology. Also this system helps the amputees at the time of fault occurrence and directly solved by the prosthetist. By this technology, the amputees will attain secured navigation.
Why did you choose to work on this project topic : In recent years, physically challenged people are gradually increasing due to various factors like physical injury, illness and accidents. Our government has taken many steps for this, but it has several disadvantages like wire breakage, inconvenience of applying and removing the electrodes and also maintenance. In order to overcome all these difficulties, we have chosen this project.
Project Highlights : This prosthetic limb will improve the patient's mobility, comfort and also prevents injury. It also helps the person to have a secured travelling and also provide a painless feeling.in amputated part.

Our government has taken many steps for this, but it has several disadvantages like wire breakage, inconvenience of applying and removing the electrodes and also maintenance. In order to overcome all these difficulties, we have chosen this project.
