PENSA Converts Street Posts To Charging Stations

PENSA is back in news again, and for all the right reasons. First the #-Link-Snipped-#, which bends metal wire into 2D or 3D curves, and now the Street Charge concept, which transforms the regular street signs to illuminated charging terminals for mobile handsets. The idea involves fastening some photovoltaics to any standing segment of street furniture, like a street sign, and then a handful of cables cables and channels should suffice to turn the sign post into a charging station, which walkers may use to charge up their phone.

Conceptual pictures indicate that the bottom surface of the small PV array may be fitted with LEDs to provide additional lighting for the walkers; especially for those making use of the charging station at night time. Visualizing a sign-post as a charging booth is an idea quite alluring, but practically may take a few days to get worked out.
