OSX El Capitan Release Date Is Set To September 30, 2015

It's official, because it's from Phil Schiller to his colleagues at Apple! OSX El Capitan release date has been set to September 30, 2015. El Capitan is the name given to the version 10.11 of the Apple's desktop operating system OSX after the vertical rock formation in the Yosemite National Park. Apple's has been beta testing the software as a beta release with its worldwide user community since July to focus on two major improvement areas: user experience and the overall performance of the system.

The El Capitan is a successor to the OSX Yosemite. At the time of announcing El Capitan, Apple informed that the new OS will bring lot of improvements including a new font named '#-Link-Snipped-#'. It includes a new security feature called 'System Integrity Protection' that protects some of the system's processes, files and folders from modification. Even the processes executed by the 'root' user cannot modify these. The feature is enabled by default.

The new version of the OS will also tightly integrate the Apple native apps in its ecosystem; which basically means you are rewarded for using Apple's product more than ever before. The apps have been tweaked to run faster on the same hardware.

In the productivity section, the El Capitan will offer a quick 'split-view' that will make multi-tasking super easy. The 'Spotlight' searching will now process instructions typed in natural language like "show pictures I took last month". There are improvements to Mail, Safari and Notes apps as well.

Apple is offering upgrade to OSX El Capitan free of cost starting 30th January. In the mean time, all the beta testers should be able to get access to the 'GM' build today itself.
