Following Nuance Communications’ recent acquisition of Swype, the popular Android text input interface has an important update in pipeline for its users, dubbed ‘living keyboard’ by the new owners. Having already equipped Swype with Nuance’s Dragon Dictation speech technology and Dragon Go semantic search, the new update includes enhanced XT9 predictive text technologies, extremely handy with phrases and sentences. Apart from intelligently predicting the words based on context, the new update will enable Swype to customize itself based on the user’s input habits.

If you want, you can also let Swype build on to its dictionary by allowing it to access your Facebook posts, Twitter feed, SMS and e-mails to trace characteristic input traits and words. With improved support in 55 languages, Nuance is providing Swype for Android device makers and other operating systems via a software developer’s kit. Download the beta version #-Link-Snipped-#.
