NTT Docomo Showcases Two-Sided Transparent TouchScreen Prototype

Using a touchscreen from the front as well as the rear - the concept in itself is quite intriguing. Well, NTT Docomo, the japanese carrier company has showcased a prototype of the same. They have developed a transparent touchscreen that can be used from both sides. Looks like Double-sided transparent touchscreen prototype shown off by NTT Docomo - The Verge team visited Docomo headquarters to see this prototype and found that it was completely see-through. It is clearly evident that such a screen might not be useful when traveling under sunlight.

What use is this screen one may ask. The Docomo team thinks that it will be useful for multitouch experience and can open up new application ideas. For instance, two player games can be played on a smartphone incorporating this two-sided screen or can be used as a shift-key on one side and type on the other for capitalizing first letters. The team showcased how Rubik's Cube can be solved easily by front and back simultaneously. If this technology does really make it to the commercial market, do you think you will buy it?
