Back to school or joining a college, Microsoft is back with its clobbering deal which it started a year back, offering an Xbox 360 for students who purchase a new Windows 7 based PC. This offer started on May 18th for Canadian students and on May 20th for all students in US. To qualify for this offer a student has to purchase a Windows PC from participating retailers worth $699 (US) or $599 (Canada) & above and they will be entitled to get a Xbox 360 4GB for free.

The participating retailers include Best Buy, Dell, HP, NewEgg, Future Shop, Staples, Microsoft Stores and The Source. Microsoft supports the need of studies along with some downtime where students need to relax and enjoy some games. It can be one of Microsoft's marketing gimmick of increasing the user base of Xbox and at the same time making a platform for the biggest game from Microsoft this year, Halo 4.

Are you in for the deal? Do let us know.
