Nokia Lumia 800 - The Real Windows Mango Phone. N9 Inside?

Nokia has just announced their 'real Windows Mango Phone' and it's called Nokia Lumia 800. Nokia seems to be quite excited about this phone and trying to give their investors and stakeholders a reason to smile. Nokia's Kevin Shields, SVP of Program & Product management of smart devices described the phone to the audience saying that Nokia wants to surprise at every turn! Lumia 800 looks quite like the N9 - which in our opinion is quite a good looking phone and feels nice in hands. The company says that Lumia is a beauty on the outside while a beast inside! Woa! Let's see, we're yet to have detailed spec list!

Let's face it - Nokia tied up with Microsoft few months ago and the industry had a mixed response. There aren't 'incredibly' new things in Lumia 800, but it looks like the company has done a decent engineering inside the phone. The phone proudly shows off Windows Live Tiles - which is going to be a an integral feature of Windows 8 operating system to be released in 2012. You can use these live tiles to display weather, your friends, RSS feeds, social network updates, flight status and so on. Windows phone offers 'people's  hub' which syncs your contacts across services and displays them in one place, so you don't have to look everywhere for your contacts. Microsoft & Nokia have paid greater attention to the camera. On the rear side of the phone, the camera has a Carl Zeiss, f/2.2 aperture lens. The phone allows you to tag the photo just after you take it so that its easier for you to find your photos later.

Microsoft's biggest advantage is that they control the Microsoft Office, and it's our honest opinion that nothing beats MS office in terms of productivity. Nokia Lumina 800 offers MS Office and seamless sync with SharePoint & Skydrive. Yes, the phone offers XBOX Live as well. Internet explorer does a good job and offers HTML5 support along with hardware acceleration. For navigation, the Lumia offers Nokia Drive in 2D/3D modes along with voice navigation support. Kevin Shields says that the music experience on other phones is 'hard'. Lumia solves the problem with a feature called "Mix Radio" to give you preconfigured mixes. There are no usernames/passwords/subscriptions; just music & tunes. For your spots needs - you can access ESPN sports hub which is unique to Nokia.

There's no official word on the pricing as of now.  The 800 will ship about 420 Euros ($585) and LTE / CDMA models will be made available in the local markets. You can pre-order Nokia Lumia 800 right now.
