Nissan Electric Car LEAF's Batteries To Supply Power To Homes
Nissan has launched a unique electric vehicle power supply system project called as 'Leaf-To-Home' that will use #-Link-Snipped-#'s batteries to provide backup power to homes. This system will work as a two-way charger and will be able to fully charging Nissanâs EV, Leaf, in just four hours as well as transmit the electricity stored in the large-capacity lithium-ion batteries (that store 24kWh of electricity ) for two days, through power station units. Nissan's partner in this feat is Nichicon, the innovator in power supply systems. This system is ready to go on sale in mid-June at Nissan dealerships in Japan.

This EV power station system is as small as the external air-conditioning unit and is built conforming to the "Charge de Move" ("charge for moving") protocol. It has a timer function that can be controlled through a LCD panel. If you have a Nissan Leaf Car and looking forward to cutting your electricity bill costs, you can start using this system right away, depending on your home's installation requirements.
Due to this initiative, Leaf has become the first electric vehicle that can be used to curb power drawn from the grid during peak consumption hours in Japan. Are you going green today?
