New CrazyEngineers Design

CrazyEngineers adopted a new look for CE's frontpage. The design isn't final yet, so we'll update it over the next few days. Our earlier design hid all our important content (#-Link-Snipped-#) and the content would get hidden below the fold. It made CE look like an inactive website for a repeat visitor to our homepage.

For the new design we've adopted DIY Themes "Thesis' framework. It offers tons of customization features, awesome SEO capabilities and also faster loading pages. Although we've not done with the customization yet, the new layout did not take us long to tweak Thesis. Also, couple of tests we performed on the site showed that the page load times are reduced by over 40%. Google considers page load time as an important SEO factor and I'm sure with the faster CE, many engineers will discover us through search engines. It also meant we cut down heavily on images to reduce the page load times. That's why you don't see many images except our featured "Small Talk" and partner logos, sponsor advertisements. However, if you think thumbnails are a must, let us know. We'll try to have them in our next update.
Over the next few days, we'll add Facebook and Twitter buttons to the posts, a neat subscription box, well blended advertisements and a sliding forum posts widget to the sidebar. If you want to see more facilities on CE Homepage, let us know through comments.
