Cashing in on the Christmas weekend, Meizu has decided to put up the m2 on an open sale on Snapdeal. The Meizu m2 that arrived in the country last month remains a Snapdeal exclusive but you do not have exercise your good luck every Tuesday afternoon to buy this entry level smartphone anymore. You can grab a White or Grey variant of this Android Lollipop smartphone with 4G connectivity anytime by paying Rs. 6,999. Meizu m2 sticks with the status quo with a 5inch 720p resolution IPS panel display with a pixels per inch figure of 296. Instead of covering the display of the m2 with a Corning Gorilla Glass, Meizu opts for Dragontrail glass from Asahi.

Underneath the hood, we find a MediaTek MT6735 chipset that houses a 1.3GHz 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core processor, ARM Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The MediaTek MT6735 has also been used in similarly priced handsets such as the #-Link-Snipped-#, #-Link-Snipped-# and the #-Link-Snipped-#. The thing that sets the Meizu m2 apart is the fact that it has got an internal memory of 16GB (eMMC by Samsung) instead of the usual 8GB. Meizu takes help from Samsung again for the 13MP CMOS sensor camera on the rear of the m2. On the front it sticks in a 5MP sensor. For the battery on the Meizu m2, the company relies on a Sony/ATL battery of 2500mAh capacity that can last for a day of average use.

The only problems we could find with the Meizu m2 is that unlike other low end manufacturers such as Lava or Karbonn who stick with stock Android OS, Meizu uses Flyme OS 4.5 which the company’s take on Android Lollipop 5.1. Another little issue with the Meizu m2 is the Dual SIM feature. While other smartphones in this range have two micro or mini SIM slots and a microSD card slot, on the Meizu m2, the first SIM slot also serves as the microSD card slot. This means you can either have to pick from two SIMs and no additional storage or one SIM and additional storage.

If you can overcome these little foibles, you may opt for the Meizu m2 or you can go for the half a dozen options in the same price bracket listed below.
